1. अस्पताल में – डॉक्टर और लड़के की बातचीत
(At the Hospital – Conversation between a Doctor and a Boy)
लड़का: डॉक्टर साहब, नमस्ते।
(Boy: Doctor sahib, Namaste.)
डॉक्टर: नमस्ते! आओ रमेश, क्या बात है?
(Doctor: Namaste! Come Ramesh, what is the matter?)
लड़का: मेरे पिताजी ने आपको बुलाया है।
(Boy: My father has called you.)
डॉक्टर: किसलिए बुलाया है?
(Doctor: Why has he called?)
लड़का: मेरी छोटी बहन बीमार है।
(Boy: My younger sister is ill.)
डॉक्टर: उसको क्या हुआ?
(Doctor: What happened to her?)
लड़का: उसको बहुत बुखार है।
(Boy: She has a high fever.)
डॉक्टर: कितने दिन से बुखार है?
(Doctor: For how many days has she had a fever?)
लड़का: दो दिन से।
(Boy: For two days.)
डॉक्टर: अच्छा, चलो, मैं थोड़ी देर में आता हूँ।
(Doctor: Okay, let’s go, I will come in a little while.)
2. कलम की दूकान में – दूकानदार और एक लड़के की बातचीत
(At a Pen Shop – Conversation between a Shopkeeper and a Boy)
दूकानदार: आओ, तुमको क्या चाहिए?
(Shopkeeper: Come, what do you want?)
लड़का: मुझे एक अच्छी कलम चाहिए।
(Boy: I want a good pen.)
दूकानदार: यहाँ सब तरह की कलमें हैं। कौन-सी कलम चाहिए?
(Shopkeeper: All kinds of pens are here. Which pen do you want?)
लड़का: मुझे पचास रुपये की कोई अच्छी कलम दिखाइए।
(Boy: Show me some good pen for fifty rupees.)
दूकानदार: यह देखो, यह बहुत अच्छी कलम है।
(Shopkeeper: Look at this, this is a very good pen.)
लड़का: इसका दाम क्या है?
(Boy: What is its price?)
दूकानदार: सिर्फ़ पचास रुपये हैं।
(Shopkeeper: It is only fifty rupees.)
लड़का: ठीक है। मुझे दो कलमें दीजिए।
(Boy: Okay. Give me two pens.)
दूकानदार: अच्छा ले लो। एक सौ रुपये दो।
(Shopkeeper: Okay, take them. Give one hundred rupees.)
लड़का: लीजिए। एक सौ रुपये।
(Boy: Here it is. One hundred rupees.)
3. किताब की दूकान में – किताब बेचनेवाले और ग्राहक की बातचीत
(At a Bookshop – Conversation between a Bookseller and a Customer)
दूकानदार: आइए, आपको कौन-सी किताबें चाहिए?
(Shopkeeper: Please come, which books do you want?)
ग्राहक: मुझे मध्यमा की किताबें चाहिए।
(Customer: I want Madhyama books.)
दूकानदार: अंग्रेज़ी माध्यम की किताबें या तमिल माध्यम की?
(Shopkeeper: English medium books or Tamil medium?)
ग्राहक: मुझे अंग्रेज़ी माध्यम की किताबें चाहिए।
(Customer: I want English medium books.)
दूकानदार: ये लीजिए, मध्यमा की किताबें।
(Shopkeeper: Here they are, Madhyama books.)
ग्राहक: दाम में कटौती मिलेगी?
(Customer: Will I get a discount on the price?)
दूकानदार: हाँ, दस प्रतिशत कटौती देता हूँ।
(Shopkeeper: Yes, I give a ten percent discount.)
ग्राहक: नोट बुक के लिए भी कटौती मिलेगी?
(Customer: Will I get a discount for notebooks too?)
दूकानदार: जी नहीं, सिर्फ़ किताबों के लिए कटौती है।
(Shopkeeper: No sir, the discount is only for books.)
ग्राहक: अच्छा, रकम ले लीजिए।
(Customer: Okay, take the amount.)
4. होटल में – होटलवाले और मुसाफ़िर की बातचीत
(At a Hotel – Conversation between a Hotelier and a Traveler)
मुसाफ़िर: जी, ठहरने का कमरा मिलेगा?
(Traveler: Sir, is a room available to stay?)
होटलवाला: हाँ मिलेगा। आप कितने दिन ठहरनेवाले हैं?
(Hotelier: Yes, it is available. How many days are you going to stay?)
मुसाफ़िर: मैं सिर्फ़ दो दिन ठहरनेवाला हूँ।
(Traveler: I am going to stay for only two days.)
होटलवाला: एक बिस्तरवाला कमरा चाहिए या दो बिस्तरवाला?
(Hotelier: Do you want a single-bed room or a double-bed?)
मुसाफ़िर: एक बिस्तरवाले कमरे का किराया कितना होता है?
(Traveler: What is the rent for a single-bed room?)
होटलवाला: एक दिन के लिए एक हज़ार रुपये।
(Hotelier: One thousand rupees for one day.)
मुसाफ़िर: नहाने के लिए गरम पानी मिलेगा?
(Traveler: Will I get hot water for bathing?)
होटलवाला: ठंडे पानी और गरम पानी के अलग-अलग नल हैं।
(Hotelier: There are separate taps for cold water and hot water.)
मुसाफ़िर: मुझे एक बिस्तरवाला कमरा ही काफ़ी है।
(Traveler: A single-bed room is enough for me.)
होटलवाला: आप इस बही में अपना नाम और पता लिखिए।
(Hotelier: You write your name and address in this register.)
5. किसी खेल के बारे में – दो लड़कों की बातचीत
(About a Game – Conversation between Two Boys)
सुरेश: रमेश! तुम कहाँ से आ रहे हो?
(Suresh: Ramesh! From where are you coming?)
रमेश: मैं खेल के मैदान से आ रहा हूँ।
(Ramesh: I am coming from the playground.)
सुरेश: खेल के मैदान में कौन-सा खेल खेल रहे हैं?
(Suresh: Which game are they playing on the playground?)
रमेश: वहाँ क्रिकेट का खेल खेल रहे हैं।
(Ramesh: They are playing a cricket match there.)
सुरेश: यह खेल कितने दिन से चल रहा है?
(Suresh: For how many days has this game been going on?)
रमेश: आज चौथा दिन है।
(Ramesh: Today is the fourth day.)
सुरेश: इस खेल में कौन-कौन खेल रहे हैं?
(Suresh: Who all are playing in this game?)
रमेश: तमिलनाडु और केरल के खिलाड़ी खेल रहे हैं।
(Ramesh: Players from Tamil Nadu and Kerala are playing.)
सुरेश: खेल में किसकी जीत होगी?
(Suresh: Who will win the game?)
रमेश: कल मालूम हो जाएगा।
(Ramesh: It will be known tomorrow.)
6. किराये के बारे में – टैक्सीवाले और मुसाफ़िर की बातचीत
(About Fare – Conversation between a Taxi Driver and a Traveler)
टैक्सीवाला: आइए साहब, कहाँ जाना है?
(Taxi Driver: Come sir, where do you want to go?)
मुसाफ़िर: टी. नगर जाना है।
(Traveler: I have to go to T. Nagar.)
टैक्सीवाला: जी, सौ रुपया किराया देना है।
(Taxi Driver: Sir, the fare is one hundred rupees.)
मुसाफ़िर: सौ रुपया अधिक मालूम पड़ता है।
(Traveler: One hundred rupees seems too much.)
टैक्सीवाला: जी, यह तो मामूली किराया है।
(Taxi Driver: Sir, this is a very ordinary fare.)
मुसाफ़िर: अस्सी रुपये लीजिए।
(Traveler: Take eighty rupees.)
टैक्सीवाला: अब डीज़ल-पेट्रोल का दाम बढ़ गया है।
(Taxi Driver: Now diesel and petrol prices have increased.)
मुसाफ़िर: वहाँ पहुँचने के लिए कितना समय लगेगा?
(Traveler: How much time will it take to reach there?)
टैक्सीवाला: आधे घंटे में वहाँ पहुँच जाएँगे।
(Taxi Driver: We will reach there in half an hour.)
मुसाफ़िर: अच्छा, चलो।
(Traveler: Okay, let’s go.)
7. किसी परीक्षा के बारे में – दो विद्यार्थियों की बातचीत
(About an Exam – Conversation between Two Students)
कमल: विमल! तुम्हें देखकर बहुत दिन हो गये हैं।
(Kamal: Vimal! It has been many days since I saw you.)
विमल: हाँ, मैं परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रहा था।
(Vimal: Yes, I was preparing for an exam.)
कमल: कौन-सी परीक्षा की?
(Kamal: For which exam?)
विमल: मध्यमा परीक्षा की।
(Vimal: For the Madhyama exam.)
कमल: तुमने कब प्राथमिक परीक्षा पास की?
(Kamal: When did you pass the Prathmik exam?)
विमल: मैंने पिछले साल पास की।
(Vimal: I passed it last year.)
कमल: तुम कब हिंदी वर्ग जाते हो?
(Kamal: When do you go to Hindi class?)
विमल: रोज़ शाम को छः बजे जाता हूँ।
(Vimal: I go every evening at six o’clock.)
कमल: क्या मैं भी हिंदी सीख सकता हूँ?
(Kamal: Can I also learn Hindi?)
विमल: हाँ, ज़रूर। हिंदी सीखना आसान है।
