होनहार कविता (Honhar poem)
| होनहार जो होते हैं, वे अच्छा नाम कमाते हैं । बड़े सबेरे ही उठ करके गुण ईश्वर का गाते हैं ।। धो मुँह-हाथ बैठ करके वे बुरे व बदचलनों के संग अदब बड़ों का करते हैं – वे अपना समय कभी न खोते कितना ही वह कठिन काम हो वे ही लड़के आगे चलकर |
Those who are truly promising, earn a good name for themselves. They get up very early in the morning and sing the praises of God. After washing their face and hands, They do not sit and chat They show respect to elders, They never waste their time, No matter how difficult the work is, These are the boys who later on in life |

I. निम्नलिखित पद्यांश का भावार्थ हिंदी में लिखिए
Write the meaning of the following passage in Hindi
- वे ही लड़के आगे चलकर
सबसे इज़्ज़त पाते हैं ।
आस-पास की बात नहीं है
जग भर नाम कमाते हैं ।।
प्रसंग :- यह पद्यांश ‘होनहार‘ नामक कविता से लिया गया है । कवि इसमें होनहार बच्चों के लक्षणों को बताते हैं और कहते हैं कि ऐसे लड़के ही आगे बड़े आदमी बनेंगे ।
भावार्थ :- जो लड़के होनहार हैं, वे भविष्य में संसार में सबका आदर प्राप्त करेंगे। उनका आदर आस पास के लोग ही नहीं, सारा संसार भी करेगा ।
Context – This passage is taken from the poem “Honhar.” In this poem the poet describes the qualities of promising children and says that such boys become great people in future.
Explanation – The poet says that those boys who are truly promising will, in future, receive respect from everyone in the world. Not only the people living nearby, but the whole world will honour them and they will become famous everywhere.

1. होनहार बालक क्या कमाते हैं ? (What do promising children earn?)
उत्तर : होनहार बालक अच्छा नाम कमाते हैं।
Answer – Promising children earn a good name (a good reputation).
2. होनहार बालक पाठ सीखने कैसे जाते हैं ? (How do promising children go to learn their lessons?)
उत्तर : होनहार बालक सबेरे बहुत जल्दी उठकर, अपना मुँह हाथ धोकर पाठ सीखने जाते हैं।
Answer – Promising children get up very early in the morning, wash their face and hands, and then go to learn their lessons.
3. स्कूल से छुट्टी होने पर होनहार बालक कहाँ जाते हैं ? (Where do promising children go after school is over?)
उत्तर : होनहार बालक स्कूल से छुट्टी होने पर सीधे अपने घर आ जाते हैं।
Answer – When school is over, promising children come straight back to their home.
4. होनहार बालक छोटे बच्चों को क्या सिखाते हैं ? (What do promising children teach younger children?)
उत्तर : होनहार बालक छोटे बच्चों को अच्छी बातें, अच्छी चाल चलन सिखाते हैं ।
Answer – Promising children teach younger children good things and good behaviour.
5. होनहार लड़कों को आगे जाकर क्या मिलता है ? (What do promising boys get later in life?)
उत्तर : होनहार बालक को आगे चलकर सबका आदर प्राप्त होता है। आस पास के लोग ही नहीं, सारी दुनिया उनकी इज्ज़त (respect) करती है ।
Answer – Later in life, promising boys receive respect from everyone. Not only the nearby people, but the whole world respects them.

‘होनहार’ नामक कविता में कवि, होनहार बच्चों के बारे में विस्तार से बताते हैं । होनहार बच्चे हमेशा अच्छा नाम प्राप्त करते हैं। वे सुबह जल्दी उठते हैं और भगवान की प्रार्थना करते हैं। होनहार बच्चे सुबह उठते ही, अपना हाथ मुँह साफ करके पढ़ने लगते हैं। इसके बाद नाश्ता आदि करके बहुत खुशी के साथ पाठ सीखने के लिए स्कूल जाते हैं।
In the poem “Honhar”, the poet describes promising children in detail. Promising children always earn a good name. They wake up early in the morning and pray to God. As soon as they get up, they wash their face and hands and start studying. After this, they have their breakfast and then happily go to school to learn their lessons.
होनहार बच्चे बुरे तथा गलत काम करनेवाले बच्चों के संग बैठकर अनावश्यक बातें नहीं करते । जब स्कूल से छुट्टी होती है, वे तुरंत अपने घर वापस आ जाते हैं। होनहार बच्चे बड़े लोगों का आदर करते हैं, सभी के साथ प्यार से बोलते हैं। अपने से छोटे बच्चों को अच्छी अच्छी बातें सिखाते हैं।
Promising children do not sit with bad children or those who do wrong things, and they do not waste time in useless talk. When school is over, they at once return home. They respect elders and speak lovingly with everyone. They teach good things to children younger than themselves.
होनहार बच्चे कभी भी अपना समय नष्ट नहीं करते। जो कहते हैं उसे करके दिखाते हैं । सब लोगों की सेवा करते हैं और सबकी भलाई करते हैं। वे कभी गर्व नहीं करते। काम जितना भी कठिन हो, होनहार बच्चे उसे कर देते हैं। कठिनाइयों का हँसते हुए सामना करते हैं और काम को पूरा करते हैं। अंत में कवि कहते हैं, जो लड़के होनहार हैं, वे भविष्य में संसार में सबका आदर प्राप्त करेंगे। उनका आदर आस पास के लोग ही नहीं, सारा संसार भी करेगा।
Promising children never waste their time. Whatever they say, they try to do. They serve others and work for everyone’s good. They never become proud. However difficult the work may be, they do it. They face difficulties with a smile and complete their tasks. In the end, the poet says that those boys who are promising will in future receive respect from everyone in the world. Not only the nearby people, but the whole world will respect them.
